She had always dreamed of this moment. The day he would finally confess his feelings for her. And her ankles had almost ruined it. During the difficult time, she had waited, made hints and sent signals in the hope that he would realise. And he did. On Valentine's Day, he surprised her with a huge work of art made of pink balloons and a gift. When she opened it, she discovered chocolates, marzipan roses and a card that read "I love you". She felt her heart beat faster as she read the words. She looked up and saw him smiling shyly and holding out his hand to her. She took it and hugged him tightly, feeling his warmth. She breathed into his ear: "I love you too". They kissed tenderly, surrounded by the pink decorations and the sweet smell of marzipan. She held on to him for a while because she actually needed the crutches to take the weight off her feet. She had broken both ankles almost a month ago. She completely forgot about the orthoses she was wearing on both legs, which didn't really fit at the perfect moment.
