In the beginning of August 2017 she was on vacation on a Canary Island (Spain). On one of the first days, she broke her ankle during a jogging tour in the morning. She visited a doctor and got a temporary cast and crutches. She did not have much pain and said, it was just annoying that she could not swim with the cast or move as she wanted. "I cannot do anything by myself," she added. And according to the VW Beetle: "It was not easy to get into the car and get out of it". But the cast did not stop her. "I just do it differently", she said. And later: "Wearing a leg cast is a sport. You need to practice every day." |

| Back at home in Italy she had surgery and got a new plaster cast. It was bigger than the Spanish cast and ended just below the knee. Because of her restriction she said: "My summer is on break at the moment." She had to wear the cast for about three weeks. Afterwards she got a black orthosis for the same time and had still crutches. |
