Hard times for gingerbread men

The saying on the sweatshirt "Christmas costs me an arm and a leg" probably comes from American and means "it costs a lot." In French there is with the same meaning: "Ça coûte les yeux de la tête" Literally translated: "It costs the eyes of the head."
