Klaudia Martini is probably the first minister who gives her oath of office with a raised arm cast. One could see this on Mai 18th 2001 in the first session after the state regional elections in the parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany). She was appointed to be leader of the Department of Environment.
Photos of the politician with the cast could not be obtained from her office. She let us know that she did not want to show her mishap in a picture. She got a fracture at the right wrist when she stumbled on the stairs, hence she had to wear a short arm cast.
In the parliament after the swearing-in, the new minister accepted the letter of appointment and the congratulations with the left hand, but previously she took brave the oath with streched fingers which came out of the right plastered arm.
