Plantar fasciitis français  deutsch
Lisa from the US State of Ohio is an avid long-distance runner. She has completed a marathon and multiple half marathons. In the summer of 2020, she began experiencing heel and arch pain in her left foot. Initially, she was diagnosed with inflammation of the tendon plate on the bottom of her foot. An MRI scan confirmed a severe case of such plantar fasciitis and also found a stress fracture in the heel. The doctor decided that the foot had to be immobilised. Also she opted to have a plasma rich platelet injection in her left foot.

After the procedure, she spent two weeks with a splint on her foot and lower leg for a two weeks. She was not allowed to put any weight on her foot. Lisa utilized a combination of crutches and a knee scooter. She preferred the knee scooter at the school where she works for ease of getting around. Lisa used crutches around the house and elsewhere.

After 15 days in the splint, she was transitioned to an orthopedic boot. For one week she still used crutches and put partial weight on the boot. After that, she was able to ditch the crutches and she used just the walking boot. Lisa spent three weeks walking in orthopedic boot. After a total of five weeks, she made a full recovery and is back to running.
